Obituary for George V. Harms

George V.  Harms
George V. Harms, 89, of Allamuchy, formerly of Kenilworth, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.

Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 8:45am. A Funeral Mass will be 10am at St. Theresa R. C. Church in Kenilworth. Entombment will follow to St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
Visitation will be 3 to 6pm on Sunday.

Born in Elizabeth NJ, George lived in Kenilworth for many years before retiring to Mt Bethel Pa, and Allamuchy NJ.

George was a Metallurgist and worked 41 years at Volco Brass & Copper Co in Kenilworth NJ retiring as Plant Manager in 1986.

He deeply loved his country and proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
George enjoyed volunteering his time in his community especially with the Boy Scout Troops of Kenilworth.

George is predeceased by two loving sons Keith and Gregory Harms and a dear daughter-in-law Georgette Harms. He is survived by his beloved wife Elsie (nee: Sandhorst) Harms of 68 years, five loving children Daniel, James, and Kevin Harms, Bernadette Cavanaugh and her husband Daniel, and Michele Farrell and her husband James, a dear daughter-in-law Lorraine Harms, 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren who he loved dearly. He will be greatly missed by all.
