Obituary for Sandy "Sunshine" Giordano

Sandy Giordano, 48 of Roselle Park, passed away on Thursday April 10, 2014 at the Peggy Colony House in Scotch Plains. Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 8:45 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm on Sunday.
Sandy graduated from Arthur L. Johnson Regional High School, Clark, NJ in 1986. She attended the Church of Assumption in Roselle Park. She has traveled to many places both in and out of the United States. Sandy was a dining room attendant at Roy Rogers for 10 years before changing over to Burger King where she worked for 13 years. She was very active with the Special Olympics, competing successfully in Track and field, basketball as a Union County Bandit, and golf. She took singing lessons, taught aerobics at a group home, made ceramics, took cooking lessons and participated in many other activities. She was a member of the ARC which included being a part of the Dining and Movie Clubs. She received a proclamation from the Union County Freeholders and received the Florence Levine Award for outstanding community service.
Surviving are her parents, Ellen Giordano (Nee Kline)of Roselle Park, NJ and Richard Giordano of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, her sister, Kim Guerra and her husband Mike and their son Richard, of Albrightsville, PA; sister Beth Moore and her husband Mike of New Hope, PA; and sister Doreen Mayer of Hopewell, NJ.
