Caterina Campesi, 103, of Newark passed away at her home on August 18, 2018. Caterina was born in Spilinga, Calabria, Italy and came to the U.S.A. in 1963 settling in Newark, and later becoming a citizen. Caterina was married for 61 years to Fortunato Campesi before his death in 1998. Caterina was a member of the Madonna della Fontana Society of Mt. Carmel Church. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Antonio (Annunziata); Michael (Eva); Rosa MARTIRANO (Rocco); Antonia PUGLIESE (Francesco) and Joseph (Donna); 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson, and her sister, Maria Fama' Pontoriero, Argentina and many nieces & nephews
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8pm at Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faituote Ave, Roselle Park, NJ. Funeral mass will be on Wednesday at 10:30am at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, Newark, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
