Obituary for Michael G Carmiche Sr.

Michael Gerard Carmiche died on March 22, 2019 in the Centre for Hope in Elizabeth, NJ.
Born in Newark, NJ.to Dominck and Rose Carmiche on October 5th, 1933. Michael moved to South Orange, NJ. In 1946.

He attended and Graduated from South Orange Junior High School and Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ., respectively. He was drafted into the United Stated Army and was stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. Whereupon, he received a medical honorable discharge.

He later attended Patterson State College and Seton Hall University, earning double Master Degrees in Education and Guidance/Student Services with which he taught K-8 elementary education at the Madison Avenue School in Newark, NJ for 9 years, before retiring after 35 years of service from the Maplewood, NJ. Post office.

He was married for 57 years to Mafalda "Dolly" Carmiche.
His passion was baseball and was offered tryouts with Joe and Frank Torre for the Milwaukee Braves and later with the New York Yankees.

He was a great man, hard worker and wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his 3 children, Michael Jr. Rosetta and Doreen Carmiche and grandchildren, Michelle, Gina and Stephen Karas, Michael Vivona and Michael Carmiche 111 and Corinne Carmiche.
