Obituary for Lucille M Lucadema
Lucia “Lucille” Mary Lucadema, nee Sodano, 95, of Kenilworth, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2019.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 8:45am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Theresa R. C. Church in Kenilworth at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.
Visitation will be 4 to 8pm on Tuesday.
Born in Newark, NJ, Lucille lived in Kenilworth for over 64 years. She was a graduate of Westside High School in Newark, class of 1942.
Lucille served her country in the United States Navy WAVES (Women Accepted for Voluntary Emergency Service). She worked as a clerical substitute in the Kenilworth and Regional High School Districts, and worked at the Adult Learning Center at David Brearley High School and the Kenilworth Public Library, a place she loved, for many years.
Lucille was a parishioner of St. Theresa R. C. Church in Kenilworth, a member of the Kenilworth Senior Citizens Club, Kenilworth Historical Society, Friends of the Kenilworth Library, Kenilworth Democratic Club, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters of St. Theresa’s Court, St. Theresa’s Rosary Altar Society, a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a volunteer of many years in the Library at St. Theresa School.
Lucille enjoyed Kenilworth Seniors trips to Atlantic City, playing Scrabble, crossword puzzles, Bingo, crocheting, reading, watching detective/mystery shows, vacations, eating out, Russell Stover chocolates, bird watching, sitting on the deck watching neighborhood activities, going to church, time spent with friends, and family gatherings.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 69 years James Lucadema, two loving children Ken Lucadema (and wife, Karen) and Donna Masucci (and husband, Bob), and two adored granddaughters Christina Masucci and Emma Lucadema. Predeceased by her sisters Rose, Chris, and Dolores, brother Frank, and nephew Frank.
