Obituary for Ann T Bonner

Ann T. Bonner, 96, passed away peacefully at her home on January 13, 2020. Born in Scotland, Ann came to the US as a young child with her Mom and sister Peggy. Her father was already in the states working in the coal mines of Pennsylvania. Ann grew up as the eldest of six children. She was instrumental in helping her parents to adjust and achieve a beautiful life in America based around family.

Ann worked for Prudential Insurance Co. for 44 years. She was proud of her career and often spoke about how she missed it. Ann and her sister, Beatrice were inseparable. They loved to take rides up and down the parkway to visit their family and spend time at their shore house in Lavallette. Ann’s nephew, Matthew fondly gave them the nickname “the birds” because they were always on the move.

Ann loved to shop for everyone and her favorite store was Macys. Her greatest joy was buying for everyone but herself. Ann put her family first and always made sure everyone was doing well.
Ann and Beatrice spend their summers at the shore and welcomed anyone to visit and enjoy the beautiful views from their yard. Many memories were made at the Jersey shore.

Ann lived a beautiful life filled with love, laughter and an abundance of wisdom. She had a dry sense of humor and often had the best one liners. Ann was strong and determined in all that she did until the day she left us. We are all better for knowing and loving her. When asked, “What is your secret to living your life to 96?” her response was simple but surely profound, “Just live a good Life.”

Ann was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Bridget (Conaghan) Bonner, her sisters Margaret “Peggy” Clark and Mary Grogan, her brothers Daniel and John, brother in law Edward Grogan and her loving nephews Matthew Clark and Daniel Grogan. Surviving is her best friend and sister, Beatrice Bonner. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews who she adored and loved Joseph Clark, Daniel and Diane Clark, Edward Grogan, Timothy and Bridget Grogan, Margaret Clark-Hill and Kenneth. She was blessed to have great nieces & nephews, Daniel Clark, Jamie Clark, Eric and Ashley Hill, Amy (Hill) and Matthew Lovendusky, T.J. and Alex Grogan, Michael Grogan and Danielle Grogan. She also had a great great niece Sophia Clark and two great great nephews Carter Hill & Ryder Grogan.

Ann was extremely fortunate to have Zandra and Caroline who were the most amazing care givers for several years. They cared for Ann with compassion, gentle and caring hands.
Until we meet again, “Toodle Loo for now.” Soar high, our sweet “Bird”.

Visitation will be on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave, Roselle Park.
