Obituary for Anthony J Cere Jr.
Beloved husband, father, and adoring grandfather, Anthony J. Cere Jr. (80) passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 6, 2023.
Anthony a lifelong NJ resident was born and raised in Roselle Park, and resided in Roselle, Belmar, and most recently Iselin. A proud member of the U.S. Army, Anthony served as a Missile Technician while stationed in Germany. Anthony was a Systems Analyst with Continental Insurance/INSCO Systems Corporation in Neptune, NJ and later worked as a consultant in the New York metro area before retiring.
He was predeceased by the love of his life, Donna Cere as well as his parents, Anthony (Sr.) and Mary Cere. He is survived by his loving daughters, Kristen Cere and Karin Cere Diaz; a dear sister, Marlene McCauley, and her husband Kevin; three cherished grandchildren; three nephews, a niece, extended family and friends.
Known to his friends as Tony, he loved sports and was instrumental in building the Roselle Park Recreation Wrestling program. Tony passed along his passion for sports serving as a coach for both the youth baseball and wrestling programs. If not at or watching a sports event, Tony enjoyed spending time at the beach. His true joy was doting on his grandchildren.
A visitation for Anthony will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Avenue, Roselle Park, NJ 07204. A funeral service will be offered on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Mastapeter Funeral Home Roselle Park. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Kenilworth, NJ.
