Obituary for Antonio "Anthony" Borealo

Anthony (Tony) Borealo, 94, passed away Friday evening, December 18. He was born on September 7, 1926 in Newark, New Jersey. Tony was predeceased by his loving and beloved wife Jennie, just one week ago. He was a loving, and devoted husband for 70 wonderful years. We know that their love story continues on into eternity. He and Jennie were long- time residents of Kenilworth before moving to Westfield 35 years ago. He always enjoyed weekends with his friends and family at their home in Chadwick beach.

They enjoyed spending time with their three children, Garry, Jennifer, and Lisa Ryan and her husband Jeff, and their grandchildren Brett and Lindsay Ryan Barretti and her husband Mike.

Tony was the eldest son of Susan and Samuel Borealo and he was one of 5 children. He was predeceased by his brother Daniel, his sister Margaret Pizzi, sister in law Teresa Borealo and brother in law James Provence. He is survived by a brother Gabriel and sister Louise Provence, sister in law Julie Borealo and many nieces and nephews.

Tony grew up in Newark during the depression and he had various jobs from his early teens He was offered an opportunity as a hobber and then a foreman at Evans and Groiss Tool and Die Maker Co. where he found his passion. Dick Evans made the business available to him and he took ownership of the company in his later years. He worked along- side his son Garry well into his 80’s. He was an active member in the Kenilworth Manufacturers Association, and he enjoyed meetings and traveling with his many friends and associates.

Tony loved life and he was always on the move. Wherever he was he made a friend and you could always hear pleasant conversation and laughter. He could always find a great bakery and he was happy to share one of his favorites, a jelly donut. In retirement he became more familiar with his kitchen and we will all miss his cookies that were on the table with coffee every afternoon.

He was a great dad; they were fabulous parents. He gave us a passion for life. We know that he touched us in a way that no one else ever could and he will live on in our hearts forever.

All arrangements will be private and under the direction of Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave, Roselle park, NJ.

Please consider a donation in Anthony Borealo’s name to be given to the Westfield Rescue Squad, Westfield, NJ.
