Obituary for Arturo S Cabatu

Arturo S. Cabatu, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Trinitas Hospital on May 23, 2021. He was born in the Philippines and lived at Elizabeth and Union, NJ.

Arturo graduated from University of Santo Tomas with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. He was a retired Lt. Colonel in the Philippine Air Force. Arturo, also known as Arthur or Art by many friends and loved ones and “Dal” (Darling) by his wife, was a loving husband, Papa, Lolo (grandpa), brother, uncle and a friend. His hobby was playing Jai-Alai, passionate in singing Elvis Presley songs and other Christian music.

He is survived by his devoted & faithful wife of 60 years, Joan Cabatu, 8 caring children – Caroline Laurente (widowed), Ovelyn DeLeon & spouse Glorioso, Mildred Uy & spouse Joven, Jonart Cabatu & spouse Michele, Jose Cabatu & spouse Judy, Joy Ferrer & spouse Michael, Mary Jane Villafranca & spouse Dereck and John Cabatu & spouse Sara, 20 adored grandchildren and 5 cherished great-grandkids & another great-granddaughter on the way.

Art was the youngest brother of Ben, Ador and Nora Refuerzo (all deceased).
Arthur was loved and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 10am-12pm at Mastapeter Funeral Home – 400 Faitoute Avenue, Roselle Park. Funeral service will be held at 11:30am. Cremation is private held immediately after viewing. The family requests not to send flowers anymore.
