Obituary for Beatrice T Bonner

Beatrice T. Bonner, 86, passed away peacefully at home on September 26th, 2021 with her loving family by her side. Beatrice was born in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the youngest of six children.

Beatrice attended Newark State College (Kean University) where she earned her degree in Elementary Education. Her 25 year career as a teacher was spent in the Elizabeth School District in the primary grades. She was an outstanding teacher who touched the lives of many young children.

Beatrice and her sister, Ann lived a beautiful life together. The passing of Ann was a tremendous loss to Beatrice. Their lives were intertwined on a daily basis; Ann was the cook, Beatrice cleaned up. Beatrice was the driver, Ann was the co-pilot. They both loved shopping! Beatrice yearned to see her sister again. It is with comfort that they have been reunited and are with all their siblings in heaven.
Beatrice’s biggest joy was her family. She treasured family gatherings during the holidays, sharing stories of her childhood with her nieces and nephews. She loved her sweets while sitting around the table.
During her younger days, Beatrice traveled to many countries with friends and returned to Ireland several times to visit with family. She also enjoyed skiing and playing tennis.

Beatrice cherished spending summers at her shore home, welcoming family and friends for over 30 years. She and her sister Ann loved sitting on their porch gazing onto the view of the bay. It was surely their “happy place”, with memories to last a lifetime.

Beatrice was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Bridget (Conaghan) Bonner. Her best friend and eldest sister Ann, her sisters Margaret “Peggy” Clark, Mary Grogan, her brothers Daniel and John, brother in law Edward Grogan, her loving nephews Daniel Grogan, Matthew Clark and Joseph Clark.
She is survived by nieces and nephews who she adored and loved as her own, Daniel and Diane Clark, Edward Grogan, Margaret Clark-Hill and Kenneth, Timothy and Bridget Grogan. She was blessed to have great nieces and nephews, Daniel Clark, Jamie Clark, Eric and Ashley Hill, Amy (Hill) and Matthew Lovendusky, T.J. and Alex Grogan, Michael Grogan and Danielle Grogan.. She is also survived by great great nieces Sophia Clark and Lola Mattie Hill and two great great nephews Carter Anthony Hill and Ryder Grogan.
Beatrice was extremely fortunate to have Zandra and Caroline as her care givers for over five years. They cared for Beatrice with compassion and gentle caring hands.

Until we meet again, “Toodle Loo for now”.
Soar high, our “Sweet Bird.”
