Obituary for Carlo "Carl" Uliano

Carlo “Carl” Uliano, 63 of Conway, SC entered into eternal peace on Monday, January 1, 2024. Carl was a dedicated, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Born in Newark, raised in Lincroft, NJ, and attended Saint Leo the Great, Christian Brother’s Academy, and a graduate of Monmouth University. Recently relocated to South Carolina where he resided with his loving wife Deborah of 33 Years and his dog Cookie. They met on a Chubbs bus to see the Grateful Dead while organizing his pens in color order. This would be the beginning of their love story.

Carl was an exceptional handyman, able to repair almost anything, and had acquired a countless number of tools that were later used for his projects. If you needed to find him all you had to do was look into the garage where he would be working and blasting Grateful Dead music. He was an avid gardener who was very proud of his tall tomato plants, variety of peppers, Fig tree, and of course his impeccably manicured lawn. Those who came to the Uliano household knew that you would never leave hungry. He always made sure that anyone who came to visit would have a good meal, wine, and a container to go home with. Carl enjoyed Italian food. You would often find him in the kitchen making his specialty Tripe, along with the variety of seven fishes on Christmas Eve, and a good dish of pasta with meatballs. He anticipated his future of watching his granddaughter grow as he would teach her everything he knew.

Predeceased by his parents, Patsy and Annamarie Uliano. Carl is survived by his wife Deborah Uliano, daughter Sarah Falanga husband Nicholas Falanga, brother James Uliano, granddaughter Gianna Rose Falanga, and many more beloved cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the funeral services on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 10am at Mastapeter Funeral Home. Interment will follow to Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington

The family requested that you come to the visitation and funeral dressed casually and comfortably because Carl himself could not stand formal attire. Grateful Dead shirts, T-shirts, and jeans are encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations in his memory to the ASPCA or St. Jude Children’s Specialized Hospital.
