Born in Elizabeth, NJ, to Pasquale and Lucia DeMicco,
Connie enjoyed growing up with her four brothers and three sisters. Her father founded The State Fruit Market
and had a stand in the Elizabeth Italian Market. Like all of her brothers and sisters, Connie helped out at the store and learned the value of hard work. No one could create a more beautiful fruit and candy Easter basket than Connie.

In 1949, Connie married John De Rose and raised her two children Rosanne and Nicholas. Connie derived great happiness from her family. She never missed the opportunity to celebrate birthdays and holidays and her homemade manicotti recipe is now a family treasure. Connie worked as an administrative assistant at Reichold Chemical Company in Elizabeth for most of her working life until her retirement.

Connie is survived by daughter Rosanne Traficante, son-in-law Christopher, son Nicholas, daughter-in-law LoriLovett DeRose, grandson Noah DeRose, great grandson Rocco DeRose. Connie is predeceased by her husband John, sisters Josephine (Prillo), Gloria (Pasquale), Irene (De Rose), brothers Angelo, Vincent, Thomas and Christopher, and grandson Damien De Rose.

Donations to the Saint Jude Children’s Hospital may be made in Connie’s memory.
