Obituary for Crocifissa "Terry" Giambusso (Lembo)

Crocifissa Giambusso (nee Lembo), 87, a longtime resident of Jersey City, NJ before moving to Union, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 6th, 2021. Also known to her family and friends as Terry, she was born to Gaetano and Catina Lembo in Riesi, Sicily. She married Louis D. Giambusso Sr. in her native Bella Sicilia in 1949 and immigrated to the United States thereafter.
Crocifissa had many occupations in her life - merrow machine operator, seamstress, restaurant hostess etc. but none more important than being a devoted wife and mother.

Her pride and joy in life was raising her three children; Louis, Melinda, and Thomas, as well as her grandchildren. You could always find Crocifissa in the kitchen cooking for her loved ones, sharing her Sicilian culinary skills and heritage with extended family and friends alike. Her ultimate pleasure was gardening, where she was blessed with the greenest of thumbs having the ability to rehabilitate and nurse any plant back to life. Music and singing was a very big part of her upbringing. She so loved music and singing classic Sicilian songs with her father. Crocifissa loved reminiscing and singing all of the beautiful songs from her childhood.

That love of music flowed throughout the Giambusso family history. At family gatherings and during the holidays you could always expect the guitars to come out and hear Crocifissa singing old Sicilian songs accompanied by her sons Louis and Thomas's playing.

She also loved the music and dancing from the 40's and 50's - the Lindy, Jitterbug Etc. It was such a blessing, even later on in life for her to muster up the strength to get up and bust a move. She loved to make people laugh and would do whatever it took to put a smile on your face. She will be missed dearly but left us with memories that will last a lifetime.

Crocifissa is predeceased by her husband Louis and daughter Melinda. She is survived by her sons Louis, Thomas and his wife Theresa, granddaughter Dana and her husband Michael, grandson Joseph, and great grandchild Teagan Sanford.
