Edythe C. (nee Hansen) Frank, 100, of Kenilworth died Thursday, February 10, 2022. Edythe passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home, the home that she and her late husband George J. Frank built in 1949.

Born in Jersey City, she and George lived in Millburn and Kenilworth before retiring to Ocean Beach III in 1977. In 2012, following the passing of her beloved George with whom she was married for 68 years, Edythe moved back to Kenilworth and lived with her daughter Donna.

Edythe was a homemaker, business co-owner, member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Cranford, Den Mother and lifelong Girl Scout. Surviving are Edythe and George’s children, George J. Jr. and his wife Margriet of Hong Kong, Laurie-Jo Will and husband Joe of Illinois, Sue-Ellen Frank and life partner Sara Swicegood of North Carolina, Donna C. Frank of New Jersey; one brother-in-law, Lester H. Frank of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

As Edythe would say, “Whether you call me Mom, Ma, Gramma, Grammy, Grandma, Gram, G.G., Auntie E, Aunt Edythe, Edie, E, Mrs. Frank, Edythe, The Cookie Lady, Girlfriend or To Whom It May Concern, I don’t care what you call me as long as you call me for dinner!”. This phrase has been passed down from Edythe’s mother and it will remain within the family for many more generations to come. Please say a prayer and/or raise a glass to toast a beautiful soul who will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in honor of Edythe.
