Obituary for Elizabeth Ellen "Betty" Dunn (Quinn)

Elizabeth Ellen “Betty” Dunn, 96, passed away peacefully in her home on Thanksgiving morning, November 25th.

Betty was born in Kearny, NJ to Henry and Ellen Quinn. She was one of 12 siblings in a large Irish Catholic family. Betty met the love of her life and married John “Jack” Dunn in 1946. They moved out to the “country” and settled in Kenilworth in 1947, where they raised their four sons and one daughter.

Betty was a court clerk for the Borough of Kenilworth for many years. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America St. Theresa Court and a den mother with the Cub Scouts both of Kenilworth.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, John A. Dunn, Sr. Her beloved brothers and sisters, Henry Quinn Jr (Kay), John Quinn (Hazel) Ed Quinn (Emily), Joseph Quinn, Eleanor McCurrie (Jim), William Quinn (Sonya), James Quinn (Anne), Mary Quinn, Rita Kennedy (Mort), Eugene Quinn (Patricia), Margaret Siberine(Ray), We are sure they are all together having the best poker party celebration with a few libations mixed in.

Elizabeth is survived by her five loving children, John A. Dunn, Jr., William Dunn and his wife Tania, Stephen Dunn, Sr. and his wife Deborah, Jeffrey Dunn and his wife Carol, and Donna Zanetti and her husband Michael, 13 adored grandchildren, Kelly Dunn (Emilio) Justin Dunn (Elena), Kristin Ortwine (Jason), Richard Dunn (Tricia), Brittany Dunn, Stephen Dunn Jr (Samantha), Megan Dunn (Jonathan), Robert Dunn (Kim), Katlyn Dunn, Alexandra Zanetti, Zachary Zanetti, Patrick Zanetti, Emily Dunn. Twelve cherished great-grandchildren and countless loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 4 to 8 PM at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park.

A funeral mass honoring Elizabeth will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 10:30 AM at St. Theresa’s Church in Kenilworth, NJ. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.
