Originally from Zamboanga Del Norte, Philippines, she graduated from Cebu Doctors College of Nursing in 1977 and remained an active member of her nursing class reunion committee, helping to plan trips that took her all around the world, including Italy, Switzerland, Mexico, and Spain.

Estela was an exceptional caregiver, serving as a Registered Nurse with multiple certifications for nearly 40 years. One of her patients, Armand Cistaro, would become the love of her life. They married in June of 1981 and lived happily in Roselle Park, NJ for over 38 years together. Estela was happiest when she was hosting parties with her family and friends, or intricately making baskets, photo albums, or scrapbooks under her personalized craft label, Small Favors.

Estela was predeceased by her dearly beloved husband, Armand Cistaro; dear mother, Virgilia (nee: Albino) Bayawa, and father, Severino Bayawa.

She will be forever remembered by her mother-in-law, Jean (nee Chiumento) Cistaro; dear brother-in-law, John; dear sister Belen Calderone; her ‘babies', including loving son, Armand Cistaro and his wife, Jaclyn; loving daughter, Amie Cistaro; her other ‘babies’ cherished grandchildren, AJ, Max and Lena; and her ‘fur-baby’ Poppa.
