Obituary for Eva Campesi (Agoston)

Born on June 21, 1941, in Szeged, Hungary, Eva was the daughter of Janos and Margaret (nee: Berkecz) Agoston. She was the youngest of seven children.

Eva immigrated to the United States in September, 1965 and it was there that she met her beloved husband, Michael Campesi. They wed on August 3, 1968 and settled in Roselle Park, NJ where she devoted her life to raising her two children, Michelle and Michael. As they got older she worked as a drapery seamstress for many years.

What Eva loved the most was spending time with her family no matter what they were doing. Her grandchildren were her most loved possessions. Her greatest joy was going to their baseball, soccer and basketball games through the years. Everyone knew Grandma. Eva was also very proud of her faith which she shared with her family.

She also enjoyed reading nonfiction books about religious experiences, doing puzzles on her iPad, watching Hallmark movies and going out to breakfast followed by shopping with her daughter, granddaughter and nieces.

Eva is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Michael Campesi, her daughter, Michelle Kennedy (husband Brendan), son, Michael F. Campesi (wife Jennifer), and her beautiful grandchildren, Matthew Campesi, Julianna Campesi, Christopher Kennedy and Colleen Kennedy. Eva is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed, but forever remembered in our hearts.

Visitaion will be on Friday from 3-7pm at the Masatpeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave, Roselle Park. Funeral mass will be on Saturday at St Bartholamews RC Church, Scotch Plains, at 9:30am with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
