Obituary for Evangelina Matarredona (Gonzalez)
Evangelina Matarredona, (nee: Gonzalez), 90, of Cranford, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6,2023.
Visitation will be 8:30 to 10:45am on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park. A Funeral Mass will be offered 11am at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park. Interment will follow to Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth.
Born in Oriente, Cuba, Evangelina came to the United States in 1967 to Roselle Park before living in Cranford for 21 years.
She was a seamstress all of her life and a machinist for Rotary Pen for many years, retiring 20 years ago.
Evangelina loved her family with all of her heart and enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and making everyone’s wedding dress, even her own along with all of her family members clothing.
Evangelina is predeceased by her beloved husband Armando Matarredona, Parents Benedicto and Maria Gonzalez, brother Juan Gonzalez, three sisters Maria del Pilar de Varona, Lolina Garcia, and Maria del Rosario Guzman. Surviving are four loving children, Miguel Matarredona, Lourdes Labbate and her husband Gino, Isabel Guarino and her husband Maurizio, and Jorge Matarredona and his wife Anna Maria, cherished grandchildren, Joseph and his wife Adriane, John and his wife Caitlin, Kristen and her husband Edward, Katelyn, Michael, and Marco,adored great-grandchildren, Olivia, Luca, Giovanni, and Gianna, two brothers Benedicto and Salvador Gonzalez, and a sister Ana Rodriguez. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
