Obituary for Frank E Kacerek

Frank Kacerek “Kacey” peacefully passed away on Tuesday April 7, 2020 at the Cranford Rehab & Nursing facility in Cranford, NJ.

Born in Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ he was a lifelong New Jersey resident. Growing up in Union and then the Ironbound section of Newark. Attended East Side High School where he met his future wife and then Boy’s Vocational High School for training to be an electrician. After school he enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean war stationed in Germany until 1951. After service in the Army he returned find work and married his High School sweetheart Pauline Marko. Married on Valentines Day in 1953 they were together for 67 wonderful years. Together they raised four children whose families have expanded to 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He worked at Blonder & Tung Labs in Newark for 5 years. Then for the Newark Board of Education as a Union Electrician for 30-years until his retirement in 1999.

Active member of the Roselle Catholic Men’s Club in Roselle and the Deutscher Club in Clark.

He is survived by his wife Pauline, married for 67 years, and four loving children and their spouses, Frank J. & Dona Kacerek, Joseph E. & Jeanine Kacerek, Thomas J. & Vivian Kacerek and Carol Renda. Together they have 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A memorial to celebrate Frank’s life will be held at a future time. Contributions may be made in in his name to the Church of the Assumption, Roselle Park, NJ.
