Obituary for George J. Rusin

George J. Rusin, 90, of Roselle Park, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 8:45am. A Funeral Mass will be at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park at 10am. Cemetery is private.

Visitation is on Monday 3 to 7pm.

He was employed by Hoffman Koos as a furniture refinisher for 47 years.

George proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Korean War.

He is a member of the Church of the Assumption Church, where he volunteered his services. He also volunteered as a coach of the Special Olympics and Assistant Boy Scout Leader of Troup 788. He also was an avid bowler.

George was most proud of his family. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Catherine Chiumento Rusin and his six children, Dan and Hillary Rusin, Greg and Lisa Rusin, Carol (Rusin) and Jose (Joe) Andujar, Nancy (Rusin) Manuelian, Mark and Karen Rusin and Jim Rusin.
He is also survived by his 5 grandsons, 5 granddaughters, one great-grandson and a sister Pauline Strykowski.
