Henry Karaman, age 83, of New Egypt, NJ passed away peacefully with his loving wife and family by his side, on Sunday, March 29, 2020. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ on March 27th, 1937.
Henry graduated from Jefferson High School in 1955. Right after graduating High School he played the accordion and soon formed his own Polka band “Henry Karaman and his Orchestra”. In addition to playing in his band he became a Master Plumber and owned/operated Karaman Bros. Plumbing and Heating Inc., with his brother John Karaman in Roselle Park, NJ. Henry resided in Colonia, NJ for 40 years before moving to New Egypt in 2010. Henry enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid Yankees fan. He enjoyed eating crabs at family crab picnics and spending time in the Poconos.
Henry is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Mary (Kozak) Karaman, brothers Michael Karaman, Joseph Karaman and Thaddeous Karaman and sister Stella Adase. Henry is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jeanette Karaman (McCarthy), his devoted children, Theresa Karaman, Jill Graser, Thomas Karaman and James Karaman and his wife Tina. His cherished grandchildren Brandon Graser, Sara Graser and her fiancé Noah Walsh, EJ Karaman, Peter Karaman and Brody Karaman, brother John Karaman and sister Sophie Rawdow, brother in law and sister in law Howard McCarthy and Pat McCarthy and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Henry’s honor to St. Jude Children’s research hospital.
Currently, due to the current global health crisis, a memorial will not be held at this time.
