Ida Mallozzi, 85, of Elizabeth, passed away on March 21, 2021, at Overlook Medical Center, Summit. Born in Castelforte, Latina, Italy, she came to the USA via Canada in 1960 and settled in Elizabeth, NJ, with her husband, Domenico, and her two children, Joseph and Linda.
She worked for Ross Industries in Elizabeth as a machine operator for many years before retiring.
Ida was predeceased by her husband Domenico; brothers Salvatore and Angelo, and sister Elena. Surviving are her children, Joseph, Linda Mallozzi and her husband Fred Robinson, grandson Luca and brothers Bruno and Frank D’Adamo and many loving nieces and nephews.
Ida was happiest spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling over the years. Ida’s greatest pleasure was tending her garden and enjoying the flowers and her fig trees. She will be forever remembered for her wonderful smile, her irresistible laugh and loving hugs.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 28, from 2-6pm and Monday, March 29, from 9-10am at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave, Roselle Park. Funeral mass will be on Monday, March 29, at 10am at Church of the Assumption, Roselle Park, with entombment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Padre Pio or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Ida’s name would be appreciated.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, only 45 people are allowed in the building at a time. All visitors must wear a mask and have their temperatures taken and participate in contact tracing. Friends are encouraged to pay their respects and exit the building to allow other family and friends to do the same.
