Obituary for James S. Tingoli
James S Tingoli, 93, of Cranford, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2022, at his residence, the Atria of Cranford. A Funeral Mass will be offered at The Church of the Assumption, Roselle Park, on October 21 at 10:00 am, following the funeral at Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, at 9am.
Interment is in Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. Visitation is at Matapeter from 4 to 8 pm on October 20.
James was born in Newark, New Jersey. After serving in the Korean war, he returned and married his sweet-heart, Louisa Detulio. They moved to Roselle Park in 1956, where James resided until last year. His wife died in 2009 after 56 years of devoted marriage. After her passing, he had a loving relationship with his companion Kathryn “Kitty” Coppola which lasted almost ten years until her passing.
James is predeceased by his brother, Joseph, his son-in-law Alan Barr, and numerous beloved brothers and sisters from the Detulio family. Surviving are his son, Michael; his three daughters, Judyann Barr, Maria Tingoli and Louise Andino; Louise’s husband Tom and their children James and Linda; and Kitty’s daughters Patty Ryan and Mary Witt and their husbands Tim and Mark. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Gregory, her children, Claire and James, and Joyce’s grandchildren: Francesca, Guiliana and Ariel, as well as his sister-in-law Mary Tingoli and her daughters Cheryl, Dori and Donna in addition to many cherished nieces and nephews from the Tingoli and Detulio families.
Interment is in Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. Visitation is at Matapeter from 4 to 8 pm on October 20.
