Jimmy was born in Louisiana and resided there before relocating to New Jersey in 1986 as a heavy equipment operator working for the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE).

After marrying Barbara Goss, his wife of 30 years, he worked in construction as a master carpenter. Jimmy was beyond talented and could fix or build anything. He eagerly used his talents to lend a helping hand to family, friends, neighbors and strangers. You could always count on Jimmy.

Friends and family will fondly remember Jimmy’s love of cooking - especially his southern specialties like gumbo, red beans & rice, jambalaya and his famous backyard Crawfish Boils.

There was nothing more important to Jimmy than his family. He loved his children and grandchildren with all of his huge heart. If you were lucky enough to be Jimmy’s friend, you were also family. Anyone who knew Jimmy, loved Jimmy. He worked hard and loved harder with a genuine kindness towards all. He will truly be missed.
Jimmy is predeceased by his parents, Georgia Mae Kierbow and Jesse Graydon Goss, and his sons, Monte and Shane and mother-in-law Grace (nee: Miller) Filak.

Filak, four daughters; Beth Anne Fusco Sharp (Brian), Lauren Fusco Apirian (Ari), Stephanie LaFosse (Mike), and Ashley Forman (Blake).
