Obituary for John A Cancillieri

John Angelo Cancillieri, 94, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2020. He joined his “bride” of 66 years, Marie (nee Nigro,) who predeceased him 2 years earlier. Both were from Newark and then lived for over 60 years in Kenilworth.

John was a World War II Navy veteran and a graduate of Seton Hall University. He worked as a purchasing agent for Chevron for over 30 years. He enjoyed winters at his home in Cape Coral, Florida.

John was a devoted family man and his 4 sons were truly his pride and joy. He was a dedicated and beloved father. Although all his sons were active in various sports year-round, he never missed any of their games. John was the founder of the Rob Roy club.

On his birthday every year, John would say, “I made another one.” We wish he could have made 100 more.

He will be greatly missed and is survived by his loving sons Joseph Cancillieri and his wife, Elisa, Stephen Cancillieri and his wife, Lorrie, and Robert Cancillieri and his wife, Lauri; 7 grandchildren Joseph Cancillieri and his wife, Adrianne, Jenna Meehan and her husband, Sean, Karra Cancillieri, Melissa Sanseverino and her husband, Joseph, Michael Cancillieri, Amy Cancillieri and Kyle Cancillieri; 6 great grandchildren Benen, Christian, Macayla, Emery, Tyler and Vinny. John is predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie, and his loving son, John P. Cancillieri.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.
