Obituary for John Anthony Papa

John Anthony Papa, 80, of Union, passed away at Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains, on November 21, 2021.

Born in Long Island, he was raised in Roselle before moving to Union many years ago.

John was the owner of Half Moon Pizzeria, Papa's Place & Papa's Dog House for several years as well as a retired police officer for the Roselle Police Department, Retired Badge #15; realtor for Coldwell Banker Westfield East & a bus driver for Sage Transportation.

John enjoyed watching his children & grandchildren's sporting events & school events. He enjoyed night's out on the jersey shore & dinner with family & friends.

John was predeceased by his brothers & sister, Sal Papa, Frank Papa, Joseph Papa & Florence (Flo) Buonocore. Surviving is his wife, Ann; children & spouses, John & Cheryl; Dominic & Pat & Michele Bishop & John Bishop; grandchildren, Abby & Jason Fiumefreddo, Dominic Papa, Dylan Papa & fiance Joanna Bosse; Brittney Papa & fiance Kevin Scott & Jessica Bishop; great grandchildren Nico & Emma Fiumefreddo.

DUE TO THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC ALL THAT ENTER THE FUNERAL HOME MUST WEAR A MASK OVER THE NOSE AND MOUTH.

Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave, Roselle Park, on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Funeral mass will be at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park at 10am with interment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains or your local food pantry in John's name.
