Obituary for John B Prochaczek

John B. Prochaczek 90, beloved father and adoring husband passed peacefully October 30, 2022. He was surrounded by those who loved him.

Born in Newark, NJ to his parents John Sr. and Mary. As a youth John held various jobs such as shining shoes, manufacturing records and working in a bakery. It was his time at the bakery that can be credited for his life long affection for pastries and coffee. Anyone who knows John knows that he could always be found savoring a cup of coffee and a pastry treat. John was an Army Veteran proudly serving overseas in the Korean War. He safely returned to the States as a Sergeant with a Honorable Discharge. It was back in the states in the town of Dover, NJ where he caught the eye of Adele. John was captivated by Adele's beauty and stared at her all evening. Finally he mustered up the courage to ask her to dance and for her phone number. A few days later he called her.

John & Adele settled in Kenilworth and were blissfully married for 65 glorious years. They raised four daughters. While raising his family John worked in Civil Engineering participating in design aspects of the World Trade Center as well as the well known Newark Airport structural columns. Later in his career John worked throughout Louisiana and Texas designing the structure of power plants. He also spent time working for the U.S. Government.

John enjoyed the outdoors and could be found taking walks holding his wife's hand and admiring the blue skies. John and Adele traveled across the country to explore Washington through California. He also split his time between Florida and New Jersey. Always eager to get on the road and embrace the open highway.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
