John was born April 13, 1946. He is predeceased by his Mother Theresa Nufrio and Stepfather Rocco Anthony Nufrio. John married the love of his life and high school sweetheart Jo Ann (Fischbach) Wright July 2, 1966. From there he served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon discharge he and Jo Ann settled in Elizabeth to begin their lives together.

John was a long-time member of the Union Elks Lodge 1583 holding a title of Past Exalted Ruler. During his time with the elks John and his wife Jo Ann were actively involved in several committees such as the veterans and special children’s committee. Throughout his life, John was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed life to the fullest. While his children were young, he spent many years involved in little league, PTA, and the cheerleading association for St Anthony of Padua Church in Elizabeth. He was also a member of the ASA Association of Referees. Upon his retirement from Durex Inc at age 62, he and Jo Ann spent many years enjoying time with the grandchildren, frequent moments with friends and trips to Aruba and Canada. He always said that his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were his greatest blessings. He was quick with a joke and helping hand. All that knew him, knew him for his calming demeanor and love of family.
