Obituary for Jose Luis Ortega Sr.
Jose Luis Ortega, Sr., 74, of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 22, 2019.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 8:45am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Holy Spirit Church in Union at 10:30am. Interment will follow to Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm on Sunday, August 25, 2019.
Born in Morovis, Puerto Rico, Jose Luis came to the United States in 1965 settling to the Bronx, NY, before moving to Elizabeth, NJ 11 years ago.
He was a warehouseman for Walbaum in Bronx, NY, for 30 years, retiring 25 years ago.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 48 years Marta Aviles, two loving children Jose Luis Ortega, Jr. and his wife Jessica and Yesenia Ortega-Gonzalez and her husband Wilson, four adored grandchildren Hailey, Jordan, Mariah, and Chloe.
Also surviving are several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
