Obituary for Joseph Cardella
Joseph Cardella, 83, of Cranford, NJ, passed away at Center for Hope in Scotch Plains on August 5, 2023. He was born and raised in Brooklyn before moving to Kenilworth, NJ where he resided for 52 years. He recently moved to Cranford two years ago.
He worked for Schering-Plough as a porter for many years before retiring and was a member of St. Theresa RC Church and Knights of Columbus Fr. McVeigh Council #4186 in Kenilworth.
Joseph was predeceased by his granddaughter, Juliana & daughter Cathy. Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Lena; children, Elaine & Thomas Tedesco, Lisa & Anthony Carbone & son in law, Bryan Bonett; grandchildren, Christopher, Abigail, Selina, Marc, Nina and Paige, as well as great granddaughter, Anastasia.
Joe will always be known for his love for his family, trains, art, NYC, and making people laugh.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4-7pm at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave, Roselle Park. Funeral mass will be on Saturday at 10:30am at St. Theresa RC Church with entombment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. Family & friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday.
