Joyce Wright Beauchamp of Roselle Park, NJ passed away on February 7, 2023 at the age of 67.
Joyce was born on March 9, 1955, and was a lifelong resident of Roselle Park, New Jersey. From a young age Joyce was curious and eager to learn all that she could about any and all topics. Growing up on Filbert Street with her family, and lifelong friend, Cathy Morgan Blaskowicz, brought Joyce immense joy as did the weekend trips to Hackettstown, NJ. Joyce was also proud to be a member of the Roselle Park High School “Class of ‘73”.
Following high school, Joyce found her calling when she began her career, spanning over 45 years, as a microbiologist for L’Oréal. Joyce was highly recognized for her expertise, within L’Oréal as well as across the entire Personal Care Industry. She was the consummate “go to” expert, always making herself available and willing to give assistance and providing, often innovating, solutions to complex and challenging microbiological issues without compromising quality and safety.
Joyce was a long serving member and key contributor to the PCPC Microbiology Committee which truly benefited the entire beauty industry. Throughout her long and extensive career, she served as a Vice Chair and Co-Chair of the committee and was instrumental in the development of many methods and guidelines throughout the years.
Joyce had a love for animals, most especially her cats. She was also an avid Yankees and NY Giants fan. Spending time with family and friends was something she cherished as she loved them all dearly. She will be remembered for her brilliance and wit as well as her honesty and loyalty. She had a “mischievous sense of humor which belied her extraordinary kindness and good humor”.
Joyce is predeceased by her husband, Theordore M. Beauchamp, III, parents William B. Wright and Julia Greenhill Wright, sisters Florence Kuipers and Louise Greene, and neice, Amy Greene. She is survived by siblings, William Wright of Washington and Evelyn Leopold and her husband, Gary of Florida. In addition, she leaves behind 11 loving nieces and nephews and their children.
Joyce leaves behind a lasting impact both with those who were fortunate enough to be touched by her presence. She was truly a special individual and will be forever missed.
