Obituary for Kathleen Peterson
Kathleen Henley Peterson, of Westfield, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Rahway Hospital, after a chronic illness.
She was devoted mother to her son & caregiver Christopher who predeceased her in 2017.
A graduate of Trenton State College she received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary School Education. A devoted elementary school teacher, she taught for over 25 years in the Roselle Park School District and was beloved by her students and faculty alike. She was known for her unfailing empathy, patience and competency afforded to the many ethnically diverse students under her care.
She is survived by her brother David R. Henley of Denver, her nephew Kyle Henley, niece Kimberly Malito, and their children Sage Henley, Ronin and Lia Malito & sister in law Dawn A Henley, all of Colorado.
The Peterson family, Carl Donna and Jennifer of Clark were also a precious part of Kathy’s extended family.
A longtime animal lover, In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathy’s memory may be sent to the ASPCA in her name.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 2pm at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth.
