Obituary for Lois D Pielech (Curran)

Whitehouse Station - Lois D. (Curran) Pielech, age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2020, of natural causes at Little Brook Nursing Home in Califon, NJ.

Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, Lois was predeceased by her parents, John and Pauline (Munzing) Curran; her siblings and their spouses: John and Lillian, Phyllis and Eddie, Buddy and Helen, Rodger, Stanley and Doris, and Dave; and her in-laws: Anne and Walter Ciuba, Julia Suchodolski, Thomas and Marianne Pielech, Nellie and Joe Lepree, Roseanne Sepsick, and Joseph and Bertha Pielech.

Lois is survived by her sister-in-law, Estralia Curran; her two daughters: Carol Simpson and her husband, Robert, of Glen Gardner, NJ, and Eileen (Camasta) Okolovitch and her husband, Andrew, of Martinsville, NJ; and her many beloved nieces, nephews, great and grand nieces, great and grand nephews, extended family, and friends.

Lois was a graduate of Battin High School where she loved participating in sports, especially tennis. She worked in the payroll department of Thomas & Betts in Elizabeth, NJ, where she met the love of her life, John J. Pielech, who would become her husband of 62 years. Lois and John moved to Roselle Park, NJ, and then to Linden, NJ. They raised two daughters in a home full of love and music. Lois was a full-time homemaker until both her daughters were grown. At that time, she returned to work in the check processing office of the Federal Reserve Bank in Cranford, NJ, until she retired in 1986.

After the death of her husband in 2009, Lois sold her home of 37 years and moved to Whitehouse Station, NJ. She loved her many new friends in Whitehouse and enjoyed playing games with them.

Lois had a life-long love of reading, music, dancing, travel, camping, and dogs. She will be forever remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, adopted grandmother, neighbor, and friend with a big smile and a song in her heart.

Due to the pandemic, a celebration of her life will be held at an appropriate future date - hopefully in 2021.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center at www.giving.mskcc.org/ways-to-give.
