Obituary for Louise Mayer
Louise Mayer, 97, of Kenilworth, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 17, 2021.
Raised in Rahway, Louise graduated St. Peter’s High School, New Brunswick, and received her Registered Nurse degree from St. Vincent’s Hospital, New York. She was Head Nurse, Men’s Surgical, at St. Michael’s Hospital, Newark. Later she worked part-time at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and Union Hospital. She was a longtime volunteer at the Union County Occupational Center.
Louise also was a longtime volunteer with church events at St. Theresa’s Church in Kenilworth, a past member of St. Theresa’s Rosary Society, and a volunteer at St. Theresa’s school library.
Louise was predeceased by her loving husband, Michael, of 70 years and by her loving daughter Barbara Mayer.
Surviving are her two loving children, Richard Mayer, and Diane Maines and her husband John; grandchildren and their families, Matthew McCabe (Cristina) and his children, Logan and Brendan; Timothy McCabe (Lynn) and his children, Ana, Cecilia and Kellan; Suzanne (Clay) and her children, Zachary and Nathan; Nancy and her daughter, Madison; and Kristin (Chris).
Services will be held at a later date. All arrangements under the direction of Mastapeter Funeral Home, Roselle Park.
