Obituary for Margaret Ortizio (Appello)
Margaret Ortizio, (nee: Appello), 81, of Union, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15,2024 at Brighton Gardens of Edison.
Visitation is Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 4 to 8pm in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park at 10am. Please be at the funeral home at 8:45am. Interment will follow to Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, to the late Joseph and Anna (Ranieri) Appello, Margaret was raised in Roselle Park, NJ, before moving to Union, NJ, where she raised her family.
Margaret had an unconditional love for her family and especially her grandchildren who loved to play board games with her and the card game Uno. She also enjoyed going to Bingo and Atlantic City.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband and the love of her life, Vincent Ortizio and a dear sister, Grace Conti.
Surviving are two loving children, Marianne Ortizio-Weiss and her husband Heath and Vincent Ortizio, Jr., and his wife Dina, four adored grandchildren, Rebecca, Mia, Nicholas, and Giana, and three dear brothers, Joseph Appello, Patrick Appello, and Frank Appello and his wife Linda. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and friends.
