Obituary for Marie Hannon (Davis)

Marie Hannon, (nee: Davis), of Kenilworth, NJ, 90, loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 27, 2022 surrounded by her adoring family.

Visitation will be 4 to 8pm on Thursday, September 1 2022 in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park. All are to meet Friday, September 2, 2022 at St. Michael’s Church, 1212 Kelly St., Union for a 10:30am funeral mass. Interment will follow to Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.

She was born in Montclair, NJ and resided in Bellville, NJ until 1953 when she married the love of her life James F. Hannon, Sr. and they became lifelong residents of Kenilworth NJ.

A parishioner of St. Theresa’s Church, Marie was a member of the Rosary Society and Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus #4186 all of Kenilworth.

Marie loved spending her summers at their shore house in Monterey Beach, NJ, enjoyed taking her family to her favorite vacation places, Singer Island, Florida and Paradise Island, Bahamas where Marie and Jim celebrated their 50th & 60th wedding anniversaries.

Marie was known for her impeccable style and her perfect hair.

She always touched the hearts of all who knew her and devoted herself to taking care of her family. To know her was to love her. She will be greatly missed by all and will never be forgotten.

Marie was predeceased by her parents, Theodore and Mary (Gilsenan) Davis and twin sister Veronica. She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, James F Hannon Sr. Four loving children, Jim Hannon and wife Liz. Peggy and husband Bill O’Malley. William Hannon and wife Helene. Gigi and husband Jim Zoeller and eight grandchildren who adored her, Billy, Jimmy H, Allison, Alexa Rae, Jimmy Z, Connor, Colleen and Chase. Her brother Ted Davis and brother-in- law Donald B. Hannon Sr. along with many nieces and nephews.
