Obituary for Mario John Conforti

Mario John Conforti, 87, of Roselle, NJ, passed away with his loving family by his side.

Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 9am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Joseph the Carpenter Church in Roselle at 10am. Interment will follow to Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 6pm.

Born and raised in the First Ward of Newark, NJ Mario was a 1951 graduate of Central Commercial Technical High School.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Antietam Aircraft.

Mario worked for Pepsi Cola in Kearny are retired in 1993.

He was one of the original antique pickers frequenting garage sales and the Englishtown Flea Market. He also had a passion for tinkering and repairing old Victrola’s.

He was an avid sports fan favoring the New York Yankees and Giants, loved Sunday family dinners and made the best tasting gravy over macaroni around. A very strong, smart and comical father, grandfather, and friend who shall be cherished and missed forever.

Mario is predeceased by his parents Gennaro and Virginia, wife Rosemarie, sister Anna Scalabrelli and brothers Jerry and Carmine.

He is survived by his six children, Michael and his wife Robin, John and his wife Angela, Virginia Ferraro and her husband Dean, Mark and his wife Margaret, Christina Brisebois and her husband Gerald, and Vincent Conforti Costanza, three siblings, Virginia DeRogatis, Marie Grapenthin, and a brother Perry, ten grandchildren, Rosemarie, Michael, Peter, Julianne, Catalina, Giovanna, Maximus, Matteus, Alexander and Cassie, and three great-grandchildren, Liam, Octavian and Adriel.
