Obituary for Mark A Bergstrom
Mark Alex Bergstrom, 61, of Kenilworth passed away at home on November 1, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.
Mark was born on August 30, 1962 in Roselle Park and moved to Kenilworth as a young child where he spent the majority of his life. He graduated from David Brearley High School in Kenilworth in 1980 and had been working as a general contractor for over 45 years in New Jersey.
Mark was predeceased by his loving parents, Carl and Janice (Smith) Bergstrom.
Mark is survived by his siblings, Thomas (wife Lisa) Bergstrom of Toms River, NJ, Carol (husband Buddy) Gauer of Branchburg, NJ, and Richard (wife Charlene) Bergstrom of Raritan, NJ, 11 nieces and nephews, several cousins, aunts, and an uncle, and great nieces and nephews.
Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, watching football, visiting the NJ shore and Florida, and spending time with family and friends. He loved sharing stories of the biggest fish he caught and the largest buck he shot. Mark was always willing to share his wisdom about building and help others with home projects. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18 from 12-2 at Mastapeter Funeral Home: 400 Faitoute Avenue, Roselle Park, NJ 07204. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Kenilworth Volunteer Fire Company or your local food pantry in Mark’s memory.
