Mary R. DeLorenzo, 95, of Linden, passed away at her home on October 10, 2021. Born in Tresilico, Reggio Calabria, Italy, she came to the US as a “war bride” in 1945 and settled in Elizabeth before moving to Linden in 1972.
Mary loved to cook and enjoyed sewing. Her family meant everything to her and her love was endless for all of her family and friends. She welcomed everyone into her home with a great, big smile and open arms. She worked in the garment industry for many years and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua in Elizabeth.
She is predeceased by her adoring husband, Frank, in 1999 and she is survived by her devoted sons, Salvatore DeLorenzo and Joseph DeLorenzo and his wife Rosalba; loving brothers, Dominic LaFace and his wife Maria, Joseph LaFace and his wife Marie, Frank LaFace, Anthony LaFace and his wife Barbara; loving sisters, Rose Caruso, Grace LaBracio, and Connie Ventrice and her husband Vincent; loving grandchildren, Frank and his wife Ashley, and Matthew and his wife Sheryl; loving great-grandchildren, Landon, Emmilynn, Juliana, and Michael; many loving nieces and nephews; and her wonderful caregiver for the past 5 years, Leila Tabatdze.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-7pm at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave, Roselle Park. Funeral mass will be on Friday at 10am at St Anthony of Padua, Elizabeth with burial to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden.
Her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all of her family and friends.
