Obituary for Patricia "Patty" Schaffer

Patricia Ann Schaffer, lovingly known as Patty, 25, of Roselle Park, unexpectedly finished her earthly journey on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.

Patty was born on June 23, 1997, in Summit, New Jersey. Loving daughter of Debra Ann Schaffer and Robert Henry Schaffer and sister of Robert John Schaffer and Kimberly Anne Schaffer. Devoted companion to Armando Chabla and fur mommy to Luna.

Patty graduated from Roselle Park High School in 2015 where she was active in the Crisis Center. This experience helped to solidify her career path in counseling. Patty then went on to earn her Bachelor's degree at Kean University in 2020 in Psychology. She had just completed her first semester of her Master’s degree in the Clinical Counseling program at Montclair State University.

While completing her education, Patty was a sales associate at Five Below and then became a Teacher’s Assistant at The Primrose School in Berkeley Heights, which led to her current position as a Paraprofessional in the Kenilworth School DIstrict.

Patty loved helping others and was always there to be a shoulder to laugh and cry on. She was known for her smile and infectious laugh. Patty loved to travel, especially to Chicago and Florida, where her favorite destination was Disney World, especially Cinderella’s Castle. Even at the time of her passing, Patty continued to help others by being an organ donor.

Patty is survived by her mother, Debra Schaffer, her father, Robert Schaffer, brother, Robert J. Schaffer, sister, Kimberly Schaffer, the love of her life, Armando “Angel” Chabla, and their fur babies, Luna and Pepino. She is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was loved by many friends, colleagues, and educators, too numerous to mention.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 4pm to 8pm at Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Avenue in Roselle Park. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, February 2, 2022 at 10am at Church of the Assumption, 113 Coolidge Place, Roselle Park. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, 1500 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union, New Jersey.
