Obituary

Richard A. Barz
Mass is Saturday for beloved father and grandfather

Richard A. Barz, 78 of Roselle Park, NJ entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 16, 2019, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born in Irvington, NJ, and raised by his grandmother, Katherine Fleming. He graduated from Irvington High School. He worked for Lionel Train, General Electric, and Bishop Electric throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathie Barz for over 53 years. He is also survived by two devoted daughters, Kimberly Hughes, and her husband, Robert of Cranford, NJ. Lisa Rabiola-Lappeus and her husband Edward of Woodland Hills, California. He is further survived by his brother Steven McEwan of Galloway, NJ.

Richard is also survived by five beloved grandchildren. Nicholas and Allison Hughes; Alyssa Rabiola, and Thomas and Collin Lappeus.

Richard lived for the special moments spent with family. He especially loved the time with his grandchildren, whether it be chasing a sporting event, sharing a good meal, fishing with his grandson, and he always highly anticipated family vacations from coast to coast when all could be together.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a viewing on Friday, December 20, 2019 from 3pm-7pm at Mastapeter Funeral Home in Roselle Park. A Catholic mass will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 10:30 am at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park followed by a burial at St. Gertrude in Colonia.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The National Kidney Foundation.
