Obituary for Richard C Haupt Sr.

The rock and patriarch of our family, Richard C. Haupt, Sr., 92, passed away peacefully on September 20.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 4 to 8pm in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park. All are to meet for a Funeral Mass at 10am on Thursday, September 24, 2020 in Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park.

Born in Newark, Mr. Haupt, also known as Dick Haupt resided in Roselle Park and was proud to be a “Parker”.

Mr. Haupt was a veteran of the Korean War. He was the president and co-founder of UPFRO Associates, the business his sons operate proudly today.

Mr. Haupt was active in the community as a Youth Baseball League and CYO basketball coach, he was active in the schools and was a longtime member and past president of Roselle Park Board of Education. He served proudly on the town’s Recreation Committee and Shade Tree Commission. He was a lifelong Jets and Yankees fan.

Mr. Haupt was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine, grandson August, youngest son Matthew and daughter-in-law Noelle. He is survived by his children William, Peter (Susan), Nancy (Frank), and Richard Jr. (Karen) and his grandchildren Joseph (Kristen) Robert, William, Michelle, Tiffany (Tom), Mark, Jonathan, Sara (Joe) Rebecca (Tom), Kimberly, Nicholas, Zachary, Sophia and Victoria and great-grandchildren Sage and Parker. He is also survived by his sisters, Anna Dixon, and Veronica (Richard) Coveleski along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Haupt was fortunate to have many lifelong friends.

He was a wonderful father, grandfather and mentor. We will celebrate his life and cherish his memory. Please smile when you think of him.
