Obituary for Robert W Klempa

Robert William Klempa a lifetime resident of Cranford NJ, has passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and closest friends at RWJ Rahway Hospital, on Sunday July 31st, 2022.

Robert was born in Rahway NJ, July of 1948 to Rudolph and Olga Klempa. Raised in Cranford NJ, he was one of four children. Robert attended Roosevelt Elementary, and Cleveland Middle school before graduating from Cranford High School in 1966.

Robert graduated from St Johns University NY in 1970 with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, he immediately served in the United States Navy from 1970-1973 station in Newport RI, following deployment as an admirals aid on a navy ship off the coast of Greece.
Upon his return to the states, Robert assisted his parents in running their business The Colony Deli in Cranford NJ ,and was counseling wayward teens at the Hocaghee House in Cranford NJ.
Robert reconnected with his lifetime family friend, and soon to be love of his life Patricia Manning in March of 1974. Robert and Patricia were married on June 4th 1978 at Seton Hall Chapel in West Orange NJ. They had the first son Sean in November of 1981, followed by the birth of their daughter Shannon in April of 1983.

Robert was working at Marlboro Institute from 1980-1985 while also attending computer science classes in the evening from Seton Hall University where he acquired his masters in 1985.
Robert landed at position at the ATT towers in New Brunswick NJ where he worked through 1999, when he was transferred to their offices in Middletown NJ where he served as one of their top software systems engineers through 2013 when he retired at the age of 65.

He was an avid member of The Club at Woodbridge where he loved to pay tennis and racquetball.
Robert was extremely caring, compassionate, and selfless.

He was a beloved Husband and father, and is survived by his Wife Patricia, His Son and Daughter Sean & Shannon, his eldest brother Richard, and wife Cherie Klempa, their children Ricky, Ronnie, Chrissy, Jonathan, and Colleen. His younger brother David Klempa, and wife Katharine Bartlett, their children DJ and Jamie Lynn, and youngest sister Kathleen Melton and Husband Alan Melton. His Brother in Law Robert Ringk, and children John & Janet

Robert was truly loved by so many including his friends and neighbors on Fiske Terrace as well as his additional friends and family all over the country.
