Roger Holmes, 56, of Kenilworth entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 8:45am. A funeral mass will be offered 10am at St. Joseph the Carpenter R. C. Church in Roselle. Cemetery will be private.
Visitation is on Tuesday 3 to 7pm.
Roger was known to his family and friends as the wild one, he always made everyone laugh. Tough on the outside but a heart of gold on the inside
Although his life was cut short, he made the most of every moment.
He would pick up and travel anywhere on a whim. He loved to explore new cultures, places and history.
Roger was born in Elizabeth to James Holmes of Co. Mayo, Ireland and Margaret Holmes née Fahy of Co. Clare Ireland. He was raised in Roselle. He attended St. Joseph the Carpenter Elementary School, Roselle Catholic High School and Northwood Institute.
He leaves behind his beloved daughter Regan, his father James, his siblings Vincent Holmes and his wife Evelyn, John Holmes and his wife Kathleen, Mary Sharo and her husband John as well as his nephews and nieces Ryan, Kevin, Cara, Jimmy, Damian, Rory, Danny, Sean, Liam and Quinn and his grandniece, Emma.
