Obituary for Ronald J Wright

Beloved husband, father, and adoring grandfather, Ronald J. Wright (80) passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 4th 2024.

Ron, known to many of his friends and family as “Kraut", was born October 20, 1943 to Martha "Muffy" Chiumento and Albert "Big Al" Wright. He spent his life as a resident of Roselle Park, NJ where he raised his family and stayed close to relatives.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Susan Wright nee Cheslock, his son Douglas and wife Sharon, his daughter Stacie and husband Artie Holzinger, his sister Arline and her husband Mickey Signorella, his brother Dennis and his wife Mara Wright, and his four grandchildren, Liam and Molly Wright, and James "JT" and Veronica "Ronni-Lynn" Holzinger. He is also survived by 7 nieces and nephews, loving cousins, and extended family.

Ron joined the army in 1962 and served in Okinawa Japan before starting his career in earnest with the United States Post Office. He worked in several branches serving as Postmaster at several over his 42 year career. He retired in 2001 as the Postmaster of the West Caldwell branch.

Ron loved to talk to people and was always quick to have a friendly conversation with whomever he met. He was a softball coach for the Roselle Park youth league and enjoyed attending activities his grandchildren participated in.

Ron was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park for his entire life. He enjoyed trips to the boardwalk, vacations with his family to Wildwood Crest, and gambling at the casinos and on the horses at Monmouth Park.

A visitation for Ronald will be held on Wednesday February 7, from 4-8 pm at Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Avenue, Roselle Park, NJ 07204. A funeral mass will be offered on Thursday February 8, at 10am at the Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park. Please be at the funeral home at 8:45am. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth, NJ.
