Obituary for Rosemary "Mone" Mastapeter

Rosemary “Mone” Mastapeter, 68, of Bayville died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 20, 2023. Rose was born in Plainfield and raised in Garwood. She moved to Bayville in 1979, married in 1980 and raised her family here. She was a 1973 graduate of David Brearley H.S. in Kenilworth and took advantage of the secretarial training offered there. She was always a hard worker since she was 12 years old. She worked her way through Cosmetology school in Elizabeth and obtained her cosmetology license. She then used her secretarial skills and worked as a corporate secretary in banking and major manufacturing companies, typing 100 words a minute and shorthand as fast as you can talk. She then gave that up to pursue her true passion in life, to become a family woman. And, with her working skills, she was an immense help with the family business. She was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother, family member and dearest friend. She was an avid cook, baker, doctor, therapist, healer, and teacher. Truly a smart, brave, compassionate loving woman. Rosemary was predeceased by her loving parents, Andrew and Phyllis Mone and by her sister Donna DiBiase along with many other loving family members and dear friends.

Surviving is her devoted husband of 42 years, Anthony, three loving children, Marc Mastapeter and his wife (loved as her daughter) Kelley, Adam Mastapeter and Eric Mastapeter; her two cherished grandchildren Mia and Marc Jr., her devoted brother Steven Mone and his wife Jane, her brother-in-law Arthur Mastapeter and his wife Marigrace and her sister-in-law Karen Hicks and her husband Jack. Also survived and loved by her aunt Dot Rothery, her uncle Angelo Mone and many nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, March 25th, from 9am to 12noon at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville NJ 08721. A Funeral Mass will follow and be celebrated at 1pm in St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville NJ 08721. After Mass, refreshments will be offered in the Church Hall. Burial will be private with the family at St. Joseph Cemetery in Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
