Obituary for Roy J Ritter

Roy J. Ritter, 76, passed away peacefully at Holly Manor Center in Mendham New Jersey on Saturday, April 25, 2020.
Born in Elizabeth New Jersey to Marion (Juresyck) and John Ritter, he grew up in nearby Roselle Park. Following high school, he enlisted in United States Navy where he served for four and one half years on the USS Newport News.
Following his service in the Navy, he married and moved to Bernardsville New Jersey where he lived for 39 years. He owned and operated Ritter’s for Men, a men’s clothing store which also provided the service of clothing alterations to the community. He enjoyed collecting and restoring Lionel toy trains as well as playing his guitar and singing songs from the 50’s and 60’s. Those lucky enough would be treated to a performance after dinner at his home. Most of all, he loved time spent with family and Sunday dinners. He was a great story teller and his sense of humor will be missed.
He is survived by his wife Amparo Sanchez of Succasunna New Jersey, his daughters Audrey Fischer (Kurt) of Scottsdale Arizona, Krysta Dilley (Scott) of Bernardsville New Jersey and their mother Rosemary Ritter of Carefree Arizona. He is also survived by 2 step daughters and one granddaughter; Beruzka Mesa (Olvin), Anyuri Mesa and Salome Osuna, as well as nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father John, mother Marion, and brother Richard.
Arrangements are being handled by Mastapeter Funeral Home in Roselle Park New Jersey. Memorial and interment will be held at a later date due to the current Covid-19 pandemic.
