Obituary for Rufino Q Faller
Rufino Q. Faller, age 79, formally of Roselle Park, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2023.
Rufino was born on July 19,1944 in Lucban, Quezon, Philippines
After graduating from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines, he worked at the Philippine Herald Newspaper. While working at the newspaper, he saw an advertisement to enlist with the United States Navy in 1967. After being stationed in San Diego, Norfolk, and Brooklyn he met and married Carmelita Villasin in 1968 and went on to have two children, Donna Faller Lee and Michael F. Faller.
After serving his country, Rufino went on to work at the United Postal Service in Elizabeth, NJ until he retired in 2003.
During his retirement, he enjoyed caring for his three grandchildren, Nico Lee, Hanna Lee and Matthew Faller, cooking, collecting stamps and coins, and spending time with friends and family.
Services will be held at Mastapeter Funeral Home on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 3pm to 7pm. A funeral mass will be held at the Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park, NJ on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Church of the Assumption in Rufino’s memory.
