Obituary for Steven A Forleo

Steven Angelo Forleo, 79, of Linden, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on November 1, 2023.

Steven was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ before moving to Linden, with the love of his life Victoria (nee Guiro). Steven was a devoted and loving husband of 58 years.

He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1968.

Steven was a proud father of his three children: Steven, Alexandra, and Victoria. He was always present and involved in their lives and was a coach in the PAL league and helped develop their athletic skills.

He continued his education while working and raising a family and received his bachelor’s degree. He used his knowledge and experience in his field of court reporting and became active in the Association of Surrogate’s and Supreme Court Reporters, eventually becoming President.

During his Presidency of the Association, he received commendations including receiving the Louis Goldstein Award from the New York State Court Reporters Association in 2004 and subsequently entered into their Hall of Fame in 2005.

He enjoyed his family, bowling, going down the shore, traveling across the United States, visiting historical places, and being involved in various veterans’ associations.
He is survived by his loving wife, Victoria; his brothers Ronald Forleo and Donald Forleo; his children Steven A. Forleo, II (wife Lisa Forleo) of Linden, NJ, Alexandra Kunz (husband John Kunz) of Rahway, NJ, and Victoria Turner (husband Troy Turner) of Hereford, PA; as well as his six grandchildren, Emerson, Zachary, Brianna, Tyler, Zoe and Gia.

Services will be held at Mastapeter Funeral Home on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 12PM to 3PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans Association, an organization Steven felt strongly about.
