Obituary for Theresa L. Karaman

Theresa “Teri” Karaman passed away peacefully at home with her family on March 20th, 2024. She was born in Elizabeth, NJ on October 21st, 1961. Teri resided in Colonia for 40 years before moving to New Egypt in 2010.

Teri attended and graduated from the Glen Cove school in Sewaren NJ. She loved being in school and was loved by all her teachers and classmates. Teri enjoyed listening to music especially polka music. She looked forward to going to polka dances to hear her favorite polka band and accordion player, Eddie Forman EFO. Teri also had a passion for painting and going to the library. She attended painting classes on a regular basis and often visited the library with her best friend Teri Moore. Teri is most famous for singing ‘Sto lat’ at family birthday parties.

Teri is predeceased by her father Henry Karaman. She is survived by her beloved mother Jean (nee: McCarthy) Karaman, a loving sister, Jill Graser, two loving brothers, Tom Karaman and Jim Karaman (Lori), beloved nieces and nephews, Brandon Graser, Sara Walsh and her husband Noah, EJ Karaman, Pete Karaman and Brody Karaman and Godmother Sophie Rawdow and many devoted cousins.

During Teri’s life on earth, she was surrounded by and looked after by her family, extended family and friends. Her mission in her afterlife will be to protect and guide her beloved family. She is now our guardian angel.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, NJ. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A Service will be at 12:00pm in the funeral home. Interment to follow at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery 53 Inman Ave, Colonia, NJ 07067.
